How Our Mental Health Referral
Process Works

Healthcare providers can refer patients to NurseTalk Mental Wellness by phone at 773.558.1547 or fax at 949.882.9906.

Submit a Referral

We accept referrals for adults age 18 and older who may benefit from psychiatric evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy, ADHD evaluations and treatment, and ongoing mental health care.

Clinical Review and Safety Screening

Our team reviews each referral to understand the patient's presenting concerns, clinical needs, and appropriate level of care. Safety considerations are reviewed, and we contact the referring provider if additional clinical information is needed.

Patient Outreach and Scheduling

Patient outreach occurs within 48 to 72 hours of receiving the referral. Our team contacts the patient, explains the next steps, answers questions, and assists with scheduling their telepsychiatry appointment.

Intake Completed Within 24 to 48 Hours

Once the patient begins the intake process, we work to complete the initial intake within 24 to 48 hours, when clinically and operationally appropriate. Our goal is to reduce unnecessary delays and help patients connect with appropriate mental health care as efficiently as possible.
